Jimmy Dale Article "Life Style Magazine"
 Vol 19 - No 6

Jimmy Dale has released two new jazz Singles: "Dear, Mr. Benson" paying homage to one of his idols, George Benson and "Agi's Tune."  While not Jimmy's first releases, they are the most emotional and creative of his original tunes thus far.  Check out Dear, Mr. Benson on iTunes and Amazon.  You could also contact Jimmy directly and he'll send you a disc in a beautiful sleeve.

Jimmy learned how to play the guitar at the age of 12, after he saw A Hard Days Night  (The Beatles), he claimed "I then was lost in the life of music forever."  A few of the A-list musical groups jimmy has played with include: The Drifters, The Platters, The Diamonds, The Coasters, Little Anthony and the Imperials, and the fabulous Penguins.  He is the guitar player on Big Mountain's CD Unity chart-topping hit tune Baby I Love Your Way.

Jimmy's talent is well known in the jazz circle; he recently sat in by request with piano great, Bobby Philips; legendary Jazz/R&B guitarist and bassist Phil Upchurch and Harry Elston from the famous vocal group Friends of Distinction (Grazing in the Grass) are just two of the legends who stopped by to see Jimmy play at the Oyster House in Studio City.

Upcoming Oyster House gigs are every Thursday in July, 9:30pm-12:30am and there is no cover charge.  It's not often a world class performer such as Jimmy Dale performs for free in your backyard; you can shuck some oysters and enjoy great food and great music.

JAZZ MUSICIAN JIMMY DALE PAYS HOMAGE TO HIS IDOL GEORGE BENSON IN HIS NEW HEARTFELT SINGLE “DEAR MR. BENSON

Established musician Jimmy Dale is creating original Jazz compositions that are both emotional and creative. His latest single, “Dear Mr. Benson”, is Jimmy’s way of paying homage to his idol and famed guitarist George Benson.

Dale has backed for notable bands such as The Drifters, The Coasters, The Chiffons, and Tommy Roe. The amount of phenomenal musicians he has been taught by, played with, and just jammed is astronomical. These relationships and talent have gotten Jimmy to where he is today. But, he attributes Don Schamber from Monterey Peninsula College, as the one who had the biggest influence on him. “He taught me the love of jazz and how to compose.”

Experience the heartwarming “Dear Mr. Benson” for yourself on iTunes.

Jimmy Dale Wins Accolades from "SmoothJazz Radio"

Respected guitarist, Jimmy Dale has played with legendary bands since he was a young man, (The Drifters, The Platters, The Coasters, Little Anthony and the Imperials) and played on the Big Mountains' hit album BABY, I LOVE YOUR WAY. Yet, in many ways, his career is just revving up with his super-exciting Smooth Jazz singles, “Agi’s Tune,” and the driving, in-the-pocket hit, “Dear Mr. Benson,” a homage to his idol, George Benson.

The composer, vocalist and guitarist, credits his success to his exposure to the Monterey Bay area. When his family moved to California’s Central Coast, the jazz community embraced the young talent. The A-List musician is quick to drop the names of his many influences by Monterey jazz icons the likes of music educator Don Schamber, musicians Ace Hill, Bobby Phillips, Lee Durley, JoJo Franklin, Don Pendergrass, Brian Stock and Santa Cruz legends Randy Masters, Joe Sekon and Ray Brown! A wonderful new addition to Smooth Jazz playlists all over the world... The Welcome sign is lit up for Jimmy Dale!

GEORGE BENSON WOULD HAVE LOVED
THE JAZZ INFUSED HOMAGE PAID BY JIMMY DALE

There is no doubt that George Benson would have loved to listen to the jazz infused song “Dear Mr. Benson” by talented and established musician Jimmy Dale.  Dale has attributed a lot of his inspiration to the great George Benson, but it can also be said that Dale himself is owed some of the credit.

As an artist who has imbibed many influences and is constantly exploring his own sound, there is something to be found here for everyone.

As a composer, a vocalist and a guitarist, Dale approaches his music with the mindset of a virtuoso and the stellar sound he gives us is a result of this. You most definitely will not be disappointed.
