IRIE, led by guitarist Jimmy Dale is a five member band that performs original Reggae/Caribbean compositions as well as the music of Top 40 artists such as BOB and ZIGGY MARLEY, Arrow, Peter Tosh, and Steel Pulse.
IRIE's CD, FREEDOM OF CHOICE. includes several of Jimmy Dale's own compositions as well as Top 40 reggae hits, Calypso and Soca styling. The CD has received critical praise, is extremely popular and distributed out of Hawaii. IRIE's CD can be heard on Radio Station's all over Hawaii and throughout the world in places like Africa, Australia, Italy, Yugoslavia, France, Spain and Brazil plus many more.
IRIE has toured around the world performing in Germany, Italy and Hawaii. They have been together for over 10 years and have opened for Ziggy Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Toots and the Maytals, The Wailers, Black Uhuru, Bunny Wailer, Jimmy Cliff, Third World, Pato Banton, Eek a Mouse and Andrew Tosh.
IRIE placed in the Top Ten in the "Reggae USA" contest conducted by Reggae Report and sponsored by ROIR Records. As a contest winner, IRIE's tune "Rub A Dub" is included in a compilation recording.
IRIE, performs two songs in the Pay Per View show "Girls of Hawaiian Tropic" and Rub A Dub is featured in the Dennis Hopper movie "Sunset Heat" with Adam Ant and Little Richard. IRIE also has four songs receiving airplay on Nickelodeon's "SK8TV" show and a song on the show "They're Gonna Put Me in the Movies" which airs on more than 80 percent of CBS stations throughout the United States and Canada.
Jimmy's guitar riffs can be heard on the famous hit
"Baby I Love Your Way" on Big Mountain's popular CD “Unity” that sold millions.
IRIE has become a California favorite and is now based out of Los Angeles.
